OREANDA-NEWS Damate Group has warned stores to reduce planned production and supply volumes of turkey from mid-October to January 10, 2025. This is reported by the Vedomosti newspaper with reference to a letter from the Indylight poultry producer.
The company stated that since September 11, the fattening site at the Turkeykin Yard enterprise in the Rostov region has been decommissioned. The reason was damage to the microclimate system, and the livestock had to be moved for early processing. Because of this, the largest supplier will produce less chilled meat in the fourth quarter and therefore decided to limit the connection of new partners, expanding sales markets and conducting poultry promotions.
According to sources, turkey supplies will decrease by about three thousand tons per month. So, last year, Turkeykin Dvor produced 54.3 thousand tons of turkey. Due to downtime, the total decrease in production may amount to about 30 percent of last year's volume, suggested Mikhail Burmistrov, CEO of Infoline Analytics.
A year earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture noted that turkey breeding shows the highest growth rates in domestic poultry farming. Over the past five years, Russia has risen from seventh to second place in the world ranking of production of these products, increasing turkey production by almost half, to 415 thousand tons per year.
