OREANDA-NEWS Russia does not see any opportunities for direct contacts with Ukraine, but remains open to constructive proposals to resolve the crisis. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Russian sherpa in BRICS Sergey Ryabkov, reports TASS.

According to him, Moscow has repeatedly stressed that it remains open to a political and diplomatic solution to the conflict and welcomes meaningful proposals from all countries if they take into account the interests of all parties.

Earlier, US First Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell said that the State Department expects negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine to begin soon. According to him, the American administration is aware that "part of this [conflict] will need to be resolved at the negotiating table."
