OREANDA-NEWS  Russia has returned to the number of the largest suppliers of metals to Europe. In March 2024, the EU countries increased purchases of Russian steel and iron to the maximum values since May 2023, RIA Novosti reports.

In monetary terms, export volumes increased 1.7 times, to 328 million euros. Aluminum imports from Russia increased by 29 percent in March. Germany showed a five-fold increase in purchases, to 22.4 million euros, and Belgium became the main buyer of this metal (130.5 million euros).
