The data of the Ukrainian politician appeared in the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. He is wanted in connection with criminal prosecution, the article is not specified.

In December 2023, the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) filed charges in absentia against former NSDC members Pavel Petrenko, who held a ministerial post from 2014 to 2019, and Vitaly Yarema, who was first deputy prime Minister in 2014.
