OREANDA-NEWS Russian scientists Anastasia Shesterkina and Azalia Valiullina have found a way to heat remote areas of the Arctic with hydrogen. This is reported by TASS.

According to the agency, Shesterkina and Valiullina figured out how to safely transport this type of fuel for further use — for this it can be mixed with so-called aromatic hydrocarbons.

"Naphthenic hydrocarbons are liquid substances at low temperatures, so they are easy to transport to remote Arctic regions. And at the same time, they are easy to use without additional energy supply," the researchers told the agency.

They also noted that the reverse extraction of hydrogen will also generate heat, which can be used to heat ships transporting hydrogen.

Earlier, the head of the Kurchatov Institute, Mikhail Kovalchuk, told Russian President Vladimir Putin that a completely new nuclear energy industry had appeared in the country, which would help the development of the Arctic.
