OREANDA-NEWS By the end of August 2024, Russia was able to enter the top three largest wheat suppliers to China, exporting this agricultural product for a total of $ 17.9 million. This is reported by Interfax with reference to the data of the General Customs Administration (GTU) of the People's Republic of China.

According to this indicator, Russia was second only to Canada and the United States. The first country sent wheat to China for a total of 56.3 million dollars, and the second — for 24.7 million. At the same time, the Russian Federation outstripped Kazakhstan ($12.2 million) and Australia ($10.5 million) in terms of exports of these agricultural products.

Russian wheat supplies to China have been growing for months. Earlier, RIA Novosti, citing statistics from the Asian country, reported an increase in exports of this type of agricultural products and meslin, which is a mixture of wheat and rye, by 5.5 times by the end of July. In the second summer month, the total volume of supplies reached 35.9 thousand tons.

According to the results of July, experts estimated the value of Russian exports of wheat and meslin to China at $ 9.4 million. In annual terms, the indicator increased 5.4 times. Compared to June, the volume of deliveries increased by 44.7 percent in physical terms and by 46.9 percent in monetary terms.
