OREANDA-NEWS Russia has developed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for air launch. This is with reference to the patent obtained by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), TASS reports.
The disposable kamikaze drone is designed for use with ejection devices of the AKU-58 and UVKU-50 types, has an internal fuselage warhead and is equipped with a neural network onboard intelligent search and guidance system. The drone's flight is carried out at an altitude of up to 8 kilometers at a speed of Mach 0.11-0.60.
The UAV is able to independently search for a target and make a decision on its destruction without the participation of an operator, which allows the carrier aircraft not to enter the zone of destruction of enemy air defense systems.
The drone's armament is a kamikaze, which allows it to destroy, in particular, armored targets: a high-explosive charge, high-explosive fragmentation ammunition, high-explosive incendiary charge or cumulative ammunition.
Earlier, in an interview with the newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda, the head of the Electronic Warfare Forces (EW) Yuri Lastochkin of the Russian Armed Forces said that Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on electronic warfare (EW) complexes use neural networks to recognize targets.
