OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian government has extended the food embargo until December 31, 2021. The blacklist was added by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The replenishment of the list is connected to the fact that this country has left the European Union. The obligation of Russian government agencies to destroy imported sanctioned products is being extended too.

The food embargo was introduced by the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin of August 6, 2014 against countries that imposed or supported anti-Russian sanctions. The USA, EU countries, Australia, Norway and Canada were included in the list. A year later, it was added by Albania, Montenegro, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and since January 2016 by Ukraine.
