OREANDA-NEWS. The Investigation Committee appealed to the Basmanny Court of Moscow with the request to arrest the ex-Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anatoly Gritsenko in absentia, who is accused of public calls for terrorist activities in Russia. About this told the press Secretary of the court Yunona Tsareva.
“The Basmanny Court of Moscow received a petition from the investigating authorities to elect an extramural restraint in the form of detention against A. Gritsenko. He is on the international wanted list, ”she said. “No comments,” said the official representative of the Russian IC, Svetlana Petrenko.
The criminal case against Gritsenko in Russia was initiated in December 2017. His actions revealed signs of a public call for terrorist activities (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). The reason for the initiation of the case was the speech of Gritsenko on the air of the channel “112 Ukraine” on July 2, 2017. Commenting on the detonation of a car in Kiev in June, in which the special forces commander of the Defense Ministry’s Chief Intelligence Directorate, Maxim Shaev, died, he said it was necessary to respond to the “demonstrative, demonstrative and impudent murders of Ukrainian officers.” Then Gritsenko said that the terrorist attacks in Kiev must be answered with similar explosions of cars "in Taganrog or Moscow."
In July 2018, the UK filed a second criminal case against Gritsenko, it concerned his performance on one of the Ukrainian TV channels on July 16, 2014. According to the ministry, he then “made a public call for terrorist activities in the territory of the Russian Federation by undermining railway trains.”
The leader of the Civil Position party, the ex-Minister of Defense of Ukraine Gritsenko, participated in the first round of the presidential elections, which took place on March 31, and scored 6.91% of the vote.
