OREANDA-NEWS Poland, Romania and Hungary can divide the western part of Ukraine among themselves. This was stated by Dmitry Rodionov, Director of the Center for Geopolitical Studies at the Institute for Innovative Development, in an article for Life.

According to him, Budapest can claim the territory of the Transcarpathian region, where about 13 percent of Hungarians live, and in some areas they make up the majority. The political scientist also noted that the Chernivtsi region and Southern Bessarabia, which is part of the Odessa region, may be annexed to Romania. In addition, he added that Bucharest easily issues passports to everyone whose ancestors ever lived under Romanian rule.

According to Rodionov, the situation is more difficult for Poland, since a small number of Poles live on the territory of Ukraine. He also stressed that there is a misunderstanding in the republic about whether it needs the territory of Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Volyn and Rivne regions, given the depressed state of these regions and the disloyalty of the local population. In addition, the emergence of a common border with Russia could be a problem for Warsaw.
