Russia Became Second among the Most Powerful Countries According to US News & World Report

According to the results of 2019, Russia retained second place in the ranking of the most powerful countries in the world according to the American magazine US News & World Report, which was published on the website of the publication on Wednesday. As a year earlier, the United States became the leader of the list, China took third place.
The list of the most powerful countries in the world is part of a more comprehensive ranking of the best states compiled by US News & World Report annually. This time, 73 countries are among the best. Switzerland took the first place, as at the end of 2018, Canada rose to second place, Japan closes the top three, falling one line lower compared to the previous rating. The top five also included Germany and Australia. At the end of the list are Oman, Serbia and Lebanon. Russia in the ranking rose one position and took 23rd place, the United States came in seventh. The list also includes Estonia (55th place), Lithuania (59th place), Latvia (62nd place), Kazakhstan (66th place), Ukraine (68th place), Belarus (70th place).
The rating was compiled by US News & World Report in collaboration with BAV Consulting and the University of Pennsylvania. It is based on the results of a sociological survey, in which about 21 thousand people from 36 countries took part.
