OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian Defense Ministry said that as a result of the negotiation process, 95 Russian servicemen were returned from Ukrainian captivity on Wednesday.

"In return, 95 prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were transferred," the ministry said in a statement.

"During the return of Russian servicemen from captivity, the United Arab Emirates provided humanitarian mediation," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The released soldiers will be taken to Moscow for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Russian Ministry of Defense. "All those released are provided with the necessary medical and psychological assistance," the ministry said in a statement.

On June 25, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that Russia and Ukraine had conducted a 90/90 prisoner exchange, with the UAE mediating.

On June 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that 1,348 Russian servicemen are in Ukrainian captivity, and Russia has 6,465 captured servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"I can tell you exactly the numbers of those people who are being held by both sides, in short, are being held captive. There are 1,348 of our soldiers and officers on the Ukrainian side," Putin said at a meeting with the editors-in-chief of foreign news agencies.

"I know these numbers because we work with them every day," Putin said.

On May 31, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that Russia and Ukraine conducted a 75/75 prisoner exchange with the mediation of the UAE.

On February 8, the Russian military department announced that Russia and Ukraine had also exchanged prisoners in a 100-by-100 format with the mediation of the UAE.

Before that, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the exchange of prisoners on January 31. Then 195 Russian servicemen returned from Ukrainian captivity. "In return, exactly 195 prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were transferred," the Russian Defense Ministry said at the time.
