OREANDA-NEWS Rostrud inspectors in 2023 helped restore the rights of more than 300 thousand workers and helped pay back salary debts totaling more than 12 billion rubles. This was announced by the head of Rostrud Mikhail Ivankov at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
"Speaking of 2023 in relation to labor supervision, the rights of over 300 thousand employees were restored, over 12 billion wage debts were repaid with the direct participation of our inspectors. And, most importantly, the number of complaints about violations of labor rights has decreased by a third, and the number of complaints about wage delays among them has doubled. This once again underlines the correctness and effectiveness of our vector for prevention," Ivankov said.
At the same time, he noted that with the entry into force of the new employment law, Rostrud has a new authority - to conduct inspections of compliance by employment authorities with employment standards. "But we still consider this authority more like an audit. Here, too, our main task is not to identify any deviations after the fact, but to ensure that these deviations do not occur, and that employment services are provided with the same high quality throughout our country," Ivankov explained, adding that work in this area will be launched this year.
