Rostov Region will take part in the second Russia-Africa Summit

OREANDA-NEWS The delegation of the Rostov region plans to take part in the second Russia-Africa summit in July this year, the government of the Rostov region reports.
The second Russia-Africa Summit will be held in St. Petersburg from July 26 to 29. It will discuss cooperation in all areas. "In July, the Rostov Region will take part in the second Russia-Africa summit. Currently, the Ministry of Economic Development of the region is actively working to prepare for participation in this international event," the message reads.
In particular, within the framework of the national project "International Cooperation and Export", online conferences are held with Russian trade representatives in the republics on the African continent.
So, earlier an "Hour with the trade representative of Russia in Egypt" took place, the meeting was moderated by the Minister of Economic Development of the region Maxim Papushenko. "Egypt is one of the leading contracting countries of the Rostov region, by the end of 2022 it ranks second after Turkey in terms of foreign trade turnover and exports," Papushenko said, noting the growth of export indicators last year.
He recalled that in 2021 and 2022, the Export Support Center of the Rostov Region organized the participation of small and medium-sized businesses in the Food Africa and EGYPS 2022 Egypt Petroleum show exhibitions, which were held in Cairo. In December of this year, the delegation of the Rostov region is scheduled to participate in the eighth annual exhibition of the food industry and agro-industrial sector Food Africa-2023 in the capital of Egypt.
Currently, the government of the region is working on the possibility of opening a "presence office" of enterprises of the Rostov region in Egypt.
Another online meeting was organized with the Russian trade representative in Algeria.
According to the head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Rostov region, such meetings allow to present the products of Rostov enterprises to potential buyers in friendly countries and promote the development of foreign trade cooperation of the Rostov region with foreign partners.
