OREANDA-NEWS  The enhanced control established by Rospotrebnadzor has not revealed cases of Marburg fever in Russia, said the head of the department Anna Popova.

Earlier, due to the outbreak of the Marburg virus in Equatorial Guinea, sanitary quarantine control was strengthened at the Russian borders.

"As part of the enhanced control, no cases of this virus have been detected. This is very good," Popova said.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has previously confirmed the discovery in the African country of a disease recognized as one of the most dangerous in the world. According to the organization, nine deaths and 16 cases of suspected Marburg virus have been confirmed.
