OREANDA-NEWS  Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia rescued 2 thousand people in the first half of 2023, the press service of the ministry told TASS.

"In six months, 2 thousand people were rescued by paramilitary mountain rescue units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. This is two and a half times more than in the first half of last year," the ministry said.

"More than 4 thousand. once the specialists provided medical assistance on the spot, in 26 of them - directly underground, " the press service quoted the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov.

During the same time, rescuers eliminated 20 accidents and conducted more than 20 thousand preventive inspections of enterprises. Among the objects whose safety is monitored by mountain rescuers is the southern tunnel water pipeline under construction in the Crimea. Its length is almost 5 km, it passes through the rocks. The day before, rescuers conducted exercises there.

"According to the legend of the exercises, the workers were caught off guard by the gassing products and not everyone was able to evacuate to a safe place. In order to help the conditionally injured, it was still necessary to get to him. The auxiliary mountain rescue team of the facility and the department of the HCV of the city of Sevastopol were involved in the exercise," the Ministry of Emergency Situations added.
