Putin will Hold Military Meetings in Sochi Next Week
OREANDA-NEWS. President of Russia Vladimir Putin will start a series of military conferences in Sochi on Tuesday, as reported by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov told reporters: "The president's entire week will be held in the south, in Sochi. Tomorrow, another series of meetings with the leadership of the Defense Ministry and the military-industrial complex on the questions of military construction and the development of the Armed Forces and weapons will start."
Such consultations with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and leading enterprises of the military-industrial complex are a regular practice, as a rule, twice a year, in spring and autumn. Last year they were held only in the fall - in November in Sochi.
As reported by the Russia 1 TV channel, a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko will take place in Sochi next week.
Earlier, the Kommersant newspaper, citing informed sources, wrote that Lukashenka is going to come to Russia for the third time this year. However, it was noted that "so that no one speculates" the exact date of the meeting was not disclosed.
According to the TV channel, in Sochi, the Russian leader will discuss economic issues with his Belarusian counterpart.
In addition, as previously reported, on Monday in Sochi, Putin will meet with the President of Kyrgyzstan.
