OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin himself will announce when he is vaccinated against the coronavirus. So the press secretary of the head of the Russian state Dmitry Peskov commented on the opinion that the vaccination of the first person in the state would be an example and incentive for the population to take similar actions.

According to Peskov, the perception of the vaccine in Russian society is at a good level. And there are many who want to get vaccinated against COVID-19. The spokesman noted that the demand for vaccination with the Russian drug "Sputnik V" is high.

In January, Peskov already had to refute rumors that Putin had already been vaccinated against the coronavirus. Then he referred to that it is too early to make plans for vaccination without the conclusion of the Russian Ministry of Health on the safety of Sputnik V for people over 65.

Vladimir Putin ordered the transition to mass vaccination of the population from mid-January 2021. To counter the coronavirus pandemic, the president believes, about 70 million Russians need to be vaccinated. But, added the head of the Russian state, vaccination is voluntary.

Earlier, Dmitry Peskov noted that the publication of the third stage of research on the use of Sputnik V confirmed the justification for accelerated registration of the first Russian vaccine against coronavirus. At the same time, the Russian vaccine turned out to be not only among the most effective, but also the cheapest and does not require extreme storage conditions. Moreover, it has been confirmed that older people tolerate the vaccine even more easily than younger people.
