State Duma Deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Nikolai Arefiev commented on the instruction of State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin to study the advisability of Russia's presence in the World Trade Organization (WTO), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Health Organization (WHO). According to him, membership in these organizations does not give Russia anything and threatens with huge fines in the current economic course towards self-sufficiency under sanctions.

Earlier, the speaker of the State Duma called the sanctions of Western countries against Russia illegal, saying that Moscow intends to demand compensation for the harm they caused to the Russian economy. According to him, sooner or later European countries will have to compensate for it.
