OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law providing for the possibility of blocking the accounts of persons involved in the financing of subversive activities. The document is published on the official portal of legal information.

The law provides for the possibility of blocking the accounts of persons involved in the financing of subversive activities, by analogy with the currently established blocking of accounts against terrorists and extremists.

As the authors of the law noted, crimes of a subversive orientation are correlated with crimes of a terrorist orientation in terms of the degree of public danger, "since they are committed with the aim of undermining the economic security and defense capability of the country."

Amendments are being made to the law "On Countering the Legalization (Laundering) of Proceeds from Crime and the Financing of Terrorism."
