OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the coordinated efforts of Moscow and Ankara to normalize the situation in Syria a significant factor of international stability. "A significant factor in international stability is the coordinated efforts of Russia and Turkey to normalize the situation and launch the peace process in Syria", said the Russian leader in the Kremlin at the ceremony of presenting credentials to him, in which Turkish Ambassador Mehmet Samsar also took part.
According to Putin, the partnership between Russia and Turkey has reached a strategic level. “We are in constant contact with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan”, he said. Such important and large-scale projects as the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant and the Turkish Stream gas pipeline are being successfully implemented.
Speaking in the Kremlin, the head of the Russian state noted the most important aspects of cooperation with all 18 states whose ambassadors took part in the ceremony of presenting credentials. In particular, he pointed to the dynamically developing relations with South Korea. Putin recalled that Moscow and Seoul are implementing major joint trade and investment projects. In the political sphere, the parties interact on issues of normalizing the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
Speaking about relations between Russia and Kyrgyzstan, Putin noted that the parties "participate in the processes of Eurasian integration, including working closely within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, and are engaged in ensuring international and regional security through the CSTO". The president added that his state visit to Kyrgyzstan, which took place in March, "gave a new impetus to cooperation in trade, economic, military-technical, humanitarian and other areas".
