OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to make decisions on the organization of pilot and serial production of high-power and high-capacity energy storage devices using domestic materials, according to the list of instructions from the head of state following a meeting on the development of unmanned aircraft systems held on January 28.

"The Government of the Russian Federation, with the participation of the National Technology Initiative Project Support Fund, the Government of Moscow and Sberbank of Russia Public Joint Stock Company, will determine the current and future needs of the Russian economy (including the unmanned aviation industry) for high-power and high-capacity energy storage devices and make decisions on the organization and provision of pilot and serial production of such storage devices using domestic materials," according to the list of instructions published on the Kremlin's website.
In addition, Putin instructed to provide for the further implementation of the project for the production of electric energy storage systems by Metalion Joint Stock Company, as well as the implementation of the project developed by Transport of the Future limited liability Company, identifying the amount and sources of financing, including from the federal budget.

"The report is due by June 1, 2025, and then every six months," the document says.
