Putin noted the positive dynamics of trade turnover with Ethiopia

OREANDA-NEWS The indicators of mutual trade between Russia and Ethiopia are still far from optimal, but the trade turnover is growing, the dynamics is positive, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"The trade turnover is growing, it is still modest in absolute terms, but overall there is a positive trend: for 2023, plus 65%. If we maintain the same dynamics in the future, the result will be noticeable. Moreover, the indicators as a whole are still far from optimal," Putin said at a meeting with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on the sidelines of the BRICS summit.
The BRICS Summit with the participation of the heads of state is taking place in Kazan from October 22 to 24. BRICS is an interstate association created in 2006 by Russia, China, India and Brazil, and in 2011 South Africa joined it. Russia has been chairman of the organization since January 1, 2024. Since the beginning of 2024, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE and Saudi Arabia have joined the BRICS. Russia's BRICS presidency is held under the motto of strengthening multilateralism for equitable global development and security.
