OREANDA-NEWS  The issues of industry and production are in the focus of the President's attention. Vladimir Putin met today with Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. The conversation took place in the Kremlin. The Minister reported to the Head of state on the key aspects of the work following the results of the first half of the year.

Vladimir Putin: "Denis Valentinovich, discussing the results of the industry's work for the first half of the year, recorded an increase in industrial production by a decent, decent amount – 6.2%. How are things now?"

Denis Manturov: "We see the continuation of positive dynamics. By the end of the year, the manufacturing industry should demonstrate growth of about 7%. In the automotive industry and woodworking — when you paid attention to this, at the beginning of the year, these industries were not yet in a positive zone. Now they have recovered, there is a good growth in indicators. But in order to fully satisfy all the demands of the manufacturing industries, we have restored the competence of the machine tool industry."

Vladimir Putin: "So you are organizing this work with the help of five ministries?"

Denis Manturov: "In total, yes."

Vladimir Putin: "Including the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education and Science, I mean personnel training."

Denis Manturov: "Everyone is involved in this, and this is a very important aspect. In order to move further in development, we need to train personnel on modern technology and meet the requirements that both the customer and the manufacturers present today."
