Putin granted Russian citizenship to boxer Johnson

OREANDA-NEWS American boxer Kevin Johnson has received Russian citizenship. The relevant decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has been published on the official portal of legal information.
Johnson applied for Russian citizenship in September 2023. A representative of the athlete told TASS that the boxer took the patronymic Vladimirovich in honor of the President of Russia. In a comment to TASS, Johnson said that he wants to live in Samara, and later promoter Vladimir Hryunov told the agency that the athlete had issued himself a mortgage for housing in the city.
Johnson is 44 years old, he has fought 60 fights in the professional ring, in which he won 36 victories (20 by knockout), suffered 22 defeats, 2 fights ended in a draw.
