OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the need to strengthen the Russian world and make it attractive to the rest of the world. The head of state said this at the ceremony of presenting state awards in the Kremlin, RIA Novosti reports.

He noted that the Russian world is huge and diverse, including many confessions and nationalities.

“We didn't create it. Our mission is to strengthen it, develop it and make it attractive to our citizens, to the whole world. And we can do it and we do it thanks to people like you,” the Russian leader stressed.

On December 30, 2021, Russian leader Vladimir Putin signed a decree that secured the status of the year of the cultural heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation for 2022. According to the president, it is very important to make the program of the year meaningful in accordance with this theme, taking into account the specifics of each Russian region.

The decree signed by the head of state states that the year of the cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia is conceived "in order to popularize folk art, preserve cultural traditions, historical and cultural monuments, ethno-cultural diversity, cultural identity of all peoples and ethnic communities of the Russian Federation." Based on this, the government has been given tasks that it must complete in two months: to establish an organizing committee for holding the year of the cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia, and also to begin developing a plan of main events, which then must be approved.
