OREANDA-NEWS  The cause of instability in many African countries is the Western colonial legacy and the politics of the metropolises. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the Russia—Africa summit, RIA Novosti reports.

"We also have to admit that the situation in many regions of Africa remains unstable. Interethnic and ethnic conflicts have not been settled, acute political and socio-economic crises persist. This, of course, is a heavy legacy of the colonial era, the "divide and rule" course, which was carried out in Africa by Western metropolises," the Russian leader summed up.
