During the event, an image was displayed on the screens in which a St. Petersburg State University student addressed the head of state, sitting in the image of Putin and speaking in his voice. He asked him a question about the doppelgangers.

"I see you can look like me and speak in my voice. But I thought about it and decided that only one person should look like himself and speak in my voice, and that person will be me," the president replied.

Earlier, the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin does not have any doppelgangers. “no. There are no doppelgangers — as for work and so on. This belongs to the category of absurd information ducks, which are discussed with enviable tenacity by a number of media outlets," he replied to a request for comment on such allegations.

In 2020, Putin stated in an interview with TASS that in the early 2000s there was an idea to involve a double to ensure the security of the head of state, but the president refused it.
