OREANDA-NEWS The Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev, discussed by phone the visit of the Russian leader to Baku and the preparation of an Azerbaijani-Armenian peace treaty, the Kremlin's press service reported.

"The leaders expressed satisfaction with the successful results of the recent state visit of the Russian President to Azerbaijan. It was noted that the consistent implementation of the agreements reached during the negotiations will contribute to the further deepening of Russian-Azerbaijani relations of alliance and partnership," the press release says.

Speaking about the situation in Transcaucasia, the presidents touched upon the preparation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian peace treaty, the delimitation and demarcation of the border, as well as the unblocking of transport corridors.

Putin confirmed Moscow's readiness to continue to assist Baku and Yerevan in developing mutually acceptable solutions.

The Russian leader paid a state visit to Azerbaijan on August 18-19, held talks with Aliyev in a narrow and expanded format, and the parties signed a number of documents.

On August twenty-third, Putin called Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and discussed with him the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan in the light of the meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart.
