He once again stressed that its main goal is to protect the inhabitants of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics, as well as the Crimea and all of Russia. He added that Russian soldiers prevented a large-scale conflict that could have occurred on the territory of the country, but according to different scenarios.

All the tasks of the special operation we are conducting in the Donbass and Ukraine, launched on February 24, will certainly be fulfilled in order to guarantee security measures for the residents of the LDNR, the Russian Crimea and our entire country for a historical perspective," he said.

On April 22, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson admitted that Russia would achieve its goals in a special operation in Ukraine. He agreed with the assumption that the work of the Russian Armed Forces could last until the end of next year.

Earlier, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin explained the difference between a special operation and a war. According to the speaker of the State Duma, a full-scale war would entail completely different consequences than a special operation. If Russia followed the example of the United States in the tactics of warfare, Ukraine would be left with a “scorched earth”. He stressed that the Russian military is sacrificing their lives to free civilians, not killing them.
