OREANDA-NEWS If the new tax legislation is adopted, it should come into force on January 1 next year, said Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market. He admitted that the decision on the transition to a new tax system would be made in the spring session or at the beginning of the autumn session. The deputy called the possible dates in an interview with Lenta.ru".
It is too early to talk about specific proposals, Aksakov drew attention. According to him, a working group has now been formed in the State Duma, which collects ideas, after which it will begin to consider them.
According to the parliamentarian, the increase in income tax should affect only those citizens whose income is at least 500 thousand rubles per month. He noted that in fact this has already been implemented, since now the bar from which the increased taxation of 15 percent begins is an income of 5 million rubles per year.
"I assume that those who have incomes above 5 million rubles a year will be graded, that is, conditionally, those who have income up to 10 million rubles, who have income up to 15 million rubles a year, we have those who have more than 15 million rubles a year. Accordingly, there will be such a gradation. Obviously, those citizens who have incomes of less than 5 million rubles a year will pay 13 percent, as they did, but this is my reasoning, it's too early to say what proposals will be considered," Aksakov said.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to modernize the tax system. According to him, it is necessary to consider a more equitable distribution of the tax burden towards citizens with high corporate and personal incomes.
Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy Artyom Kiryanov said that the funds received as a result of the introduction of the progressive tax can be used to finance socially significant projects.
