OREANDA-NEWS. Almost half of the citizens of Ukraine consider President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to be the “politician of the year.” This follows from the results of a poll held by the sociological group Rating published on December 23 on its website.

47 % of respondents named Zelensky the politician of the year. There is a great gap between him and his nearest competitor Yuriy Boyko, the co-chairman of the political party Opposition Platform – For Life, who gained 10 %. Only 7 % of Ukrainians consider ex-president of the country Petro Poroshenko consider to be the politician of the year.

As for the main event of the year, the residents of Ukraine named the exchange of retained persons between Russia and Ukraine, in particular the release of sailors detained by Russian border guards in the Black Sea at the end of 2018 (48 %). 44 % of respondents consider the presidential election to be the main event of the outgoing year in Ukraine.
