OREANDA-NEWS. Kiev is preparing new lists for the exchange of prisoners with the self-proclaimed republics of the Donbass. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The previous exchange took place on December 29. “Unfortunately, we were not able to release all, but we returned 76 people,” Zelensky said. He thanked Merkel for facilitating the process.

Besides, the Ukrainian authorities formed three additional sites for the withdrawal of forces in the Donbass. “It is very important for us that these are nothing but humanitarian sites. This is important for people,” Zelensky’s statement says. The politician noted that at the next meeting of the tripartite group in Minsk on January 16, Ukraine will seek a complete ceasefire.
