This decision is explained with the fact that the Chinese government is preventing the resumption of flights by US airlines to the country.

According to available information, the date of entry into force of this ban is subject to change.

The White House and the US Department of Transportation refused to comment the situation.

Relations between Washington and Beijing have recently worsened amid a coronavirus infection pandemic. Trump has repeatedly accused China of creating SARS-CoV-2 in the laboratory in Wuhan, where the epidemic began.
