OREANDA-NEWS Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin proposed to amend the Constitution, which will allow the parliament to participate in consultations in the formation of the government. 

The speaker said that the Duma is now only giving approval for the appointment of the prime minister, the cabinet itself is formed by the prime minister. The rest of the parliament does not participate in the formation of the government.

According to Volodin, the president does not have the opportunity to "rely on an alternative position or opinion on candidates," while approving the composition of the government. Therefore, it would be appropriate to consider the possibility of the State Duma’s participation in the formation of the Cabinet.
