USA Allocated 4.6 Billion Dollars to the Migrants on the Border with Mexico
OREANDA-NEWS. US President Donald Trump signed a bill that provides the allocation of humanitarian aid to migrants on the Mexican border in the amount of 4.6 billion dollars. According to the document, money should be spent on medical care, food and shelter for refugees.
On June 19, the member of the USA House of Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (Democratic Party) called the border centers for the migrants created by order of Trump the “concentration camps”. “The U.S. is running concentration camps on our southern border and that is exactly what they are,” she said. “I want to talk to the people that are concerned enough with humanity to say that “never again” means something. The fact that concentration camps are now an institutionalized practice in the “home of the free” is extraordinarily disturbing and we need to do something about it.” According to Ocasio-Cortez, in these camps the migrants live in inhuman conditions and die.
Earlier in June, human rights activists reported about hard conditions at a migrant center in Clint (Texas) where 250 children including babies live. Vice President Mike Pence called the conditions in the migrant camp unacceptable, but admitted that it was impossible to remedy the situation until the congressmen agree to allocate more funds to expand the temporary housing area.
On June 25, American media reported that dead woman, two babies and child of a preschool age were found near the Rio Grande River not far from the so-called Trump wall, a specially built barrier for preventing illegal migration from Mexico.
