OREANDA-NEWS. Republican Congressman from Florida State, Greg Steube, announced the party’s intention to propose new sanctions against Iran, Russia and China. According to the politician, the new restrictions are connected with the expiration of the arms embargo on Tehran.

Steube also informed that the Republican Party plans to offer to prohibit Washington’s financial assistance to Lebanon.

In early May, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that the United States will seek an extension of the arms embargo on Iran at the United Nations and will use all available diplomatic opportunities for this.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, commenting on his words, noted that American actions attempting to extend the arms embargo and impose sanctions against Iran are cynical and can lead to a crisis in the UN Security Council.
