OREANDA-NEWS. The Democratic Party of the United States has confirmed Joe Biden as a candidate for the presidency of the country in the upcoming elections.

Well-known members of the Democratic Party spoke out in support of Biden. Ex-presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton called on to vote for him.

Biden received more than 3,550 votes, and his main rival, senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont gained more than 1,150. The presidential candidate’s acceptance speech is expected to take place on August 20.

Delegates also supported Kamala Harris’s as a candidate for vice president. Harris may become the first black woman to hold this post.

The US presidential election is scheduled for November 3. The Republican candidate is the incumbent President Donald Trump.
