OREANDA-NEWS. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said that nowadays Russia is in a difficult situation and it will face collapse.

According to the politician, Moscow has tense relations with China. It also should resolve “complex religious issues” and demographic problems. Therefore, Russian President Vladimir Putin “is choosing an external enemy” in order to unite the country.

How soon Russia will disintegrate depends on the prices of oil and gas and the changes in Chinese economy caused by the epidemic of the new coronavirus, Danilov believes. “There are a lot of questions about gas. It is clear that there will be a struggle for the Arctic shelf. Will Russia be able to withstand this race? I am not sure,” he concluded.
