Ukrainian Constitutional Court Refused to Consider the Law on the Special Status of Donbass
OREANDA-NEWS. The Constitutional Court of Ukraine refused to consider the constitutionality of the law on the special status of Donbass. This was reported by the press service of the institution on January 27.
In July 2019, the Constitutional Court received a submission of 53 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the previous convocation on the constitutionality of the law “On the Special Procedure for Local Self-Government in Certain Areas of Donetsk and Lugansk Regions", the law “On Creating the Necessary Conditions for a Peaceful Settlement of the Situation in Certain Areas of Donetsk and Lugansk Regions” and the law “On the Prevention of Prosecution and Punishment of Persons Participating in Events in the Territory of Donetsk and Lugansk Regions.”
“The decision of the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on the refusal to open constitutional proceedings was adopted,” the statement of the press service says.
