OREANDA-NEWS. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent a note of protest to Russia because of the visit of President Vladimir Putin to the Republic of Crimea.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expresses strong protest in connection with the visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol temporarily occupied by Russia,” the statement published on the website of the agency says.

On August 27, Putin took part in the opening ceremony for a new section of the highway Tavrida connecting Kerch, Feodosia, Belogorsk, Simferopol, Bakhchisarai, and Sevastopol.

Earlier, Kiev sent to Moscow a note of protest in connection with the parade of the Navy held on July 26 in Crimea. Ukrainian authorities assessed it as a “violation of the norms of international law by the Russian side.” Russia returned the note to Kiev without consideration.
