OREANDA-NEWS. The Ukrainian authorities have promised to build a «wall» along the entire length of the border with Russia and Belarus. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country Denis Monastyrsky after visiting a newly equipped section of the border in the Luhansk region.

«Next year, there will be a lot of border construction», the ministry's website quotes the minister. It is noted that a complex of protective engineering structures has been erected on the section of the border with Russia in the Luhansk region, which includes an anti-vehicle moat and shaft, a control lane, a barrier fence with barbed wire and an intelligent video surveillance system.

According to Monastyrsky, such a system protects against military invasion, saboteurs, illegal migration and smuggling. The state will make every effort to equip the entire border with Russia and Belarus.

About $637 million are needed for the full arrangement of the borders. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has already asked the government to put this amount in the budget of 2022.
