Turkey Blocked the Bosporus Strait for NATO Ships
OREANDA-NEWS. According to the news portal Nordic Monitor, the Turkish military restrict the passage of the ships of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization through the Bosporus Strait.
During the NATO meeting, Turkish officials noted the importance of maintaining stability in the Black Sea region, restricting the activities of the North Atlantic Alliance in accordance with the provisions of the Montreux Convention Regarding the Regime of the Straits of 1936 and preventing provocations against Russia.
It is reported that several NATO warships have already been refused to enter the Black Sea. Ankara explained its position on this issue with the Convention. At the same time, some experts point out a desire of Turkish authorities to support Moscow.
