Tsikhanouskaya Announced a Nationwide Strike in Belarus

On October 25, the ultimatum that she presented to President Alexander Lukashenko expired. The opposition demanded that he resign, stop violence against protesters and release political prisoners. If the demands are not met, the country would threatened with a strike of enterprises and blocking of roads.

Tsikhanouskaya recalled that the people of Belarus had announced a national ultimatum, and the number of protesters is the confirmation that the will of the nation matters.
According to the Telegram channel Nexta Live, more than 100 thousand people took part in the Sunday action in Minsk. Protests were also held in Brest, Grodno, Lida, Mogilev and other cities. The human rights center Viasna reported that on October 25, almost 200 people were detained.
