Trump’s Team Criticized New Facebook Rules Related to Upcoming Presidential Election
OREANDA-NEWS. The headquarters of US President Donald Trump criticized new rules introduced by the social network Facebook in connection with the election of a head of state scheduled for November 3.
Earlier, company’s co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a number of measures that Facebook intends to take to “protect democracy” before and after election. So, the administration of the resource will stop accepting applications for political advertisements one week before voting day, and will flag all posts with misinformation or premature statements regarding voting results. “I’m… worried that with our nation so divided and election results potentially taking days or even weeks to be finalized, there could be an increased risk of civil unrest across the country,” Zuckerberg explained.
Commenting on this decision, Samantha Zager, deputy press secretary for the Trump campaign, said the following: “When millions of voters will be making their decisions, the president will be silenced by the Silicon Valley Mafia.”
