OREANDA-NEWS. US President Donald Trump called false statements by his former National Security Advisor John Bolton that the head of the White House trusts Russian President Vladimir Putin more than the American intelligence service.

“John Bolton, one of the dumbest people I’ve met in government… states often that I respected and even trusted, Vladimir Putin of Russia more than those in our Intelligence Agencies. While of course that is not true,” Trump wrote on his Twitter account.

Bolton previously said that he experienced the wrath of Trump when he received intelligence reports related to the Russian Federation.

Bolton worked for 17 months in the administration of Trump before being fired. The media reported that he did not agree with the American President on his views on policy towards Iran, Afghanistan and North Korea. Trump himself wrote at the time that he did not agree with many of Bolton’s proposals.
