OREANDA-NEWS. US President Donald Trump told reporters at the World Economic Forum in Davos that Washington will soon expand the list of countries whose residents are banned from entering the United States. The head of the White House explained this with a need to protect ourselves and ensuring safety of the country, but did not name certain states.

Earlier, media reported that citizens of seven countries: Belarus, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sudan, and Tanzania, could fall under the new restriction.

A list of states, residents of which are banned from entering the United States, was published in 2017, soon after Trump’s election. Initially, it included seven Muslim countries: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. Later, North Korea, Venezuela and Chad were added to it.
