OREANDA-NEWS. The situation in relations with the Baltic countries is now tense, but Russia will work with this, there are sane politicians there. This was stated by Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the Duma committee on international affairs, at a briefing at the Rossiya Segodnya news agency.
The deputy said on this occasion: “Now the situation is, of course, tense, but we will continue to work. There are sensible politicians in these countries too. There are very serious people in these countries ... in the Russian diaspora, in representatives of small and medium-sized businesses. . If people have decided to stay in these countries, if people have decided to work there, if people have decided to resist the forced assimilation of the Russian-speaking population ... then they are strong people. "
Also on April 29, it became known that Estonian MEP Riho Terras sent a letter to the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell with a proposal to send Russian diplomats accredited to the EU as a sign of solidarity with the Czech Republic.
The politician recalled that more than 60 people work in the country's permanent mission. According to Terrace, "there are certainly many intelligence officers among them, and the European authorities should also have an idea of them."
It is reported that 73 EP members from 16 states have joined the MP's proposal.
