OREANDA-NEWS. At a meeting on Wednesday, the State Duma adopted in the third reading the draft law on the State Council of the Russian Federation, which is designed to ensure the consistency of actions of public authorities.

According to the bill, the system of public authorities includes federal government bodies, government bodies of regions, other government bodies, local government bodies that carry out their activities within the constitutionally established limits in order to observe and protect human and civil rights and freedoms, create conditions for social and economic development of the state.

The document says that the State Council is a constitutional body formed by the head of state in order to ensure the coordinated work of the authorities, determine the main directions of domestic and foreign policy of the Russian Federation and priority areas of the country's social and economic development. In addition, the State Council will prepare proposals on general directions of regional and municipal development, on the most important issues of state building and strengthening the foundations of federalism and local self-government, as well as on issues connected to the relationship between levels of public authority.
