OREANDA-NEWS. Several settlements in the Syrian governorates of Aleppo, Raqqa and Al-Hasakah announced the restoration of the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic (SAR) on their territories due to the inability of the self-proclaimed Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria to protect the population and resolve humanitarian problems.

It was reported by Major General Alexei Bakin, the head of the Russian Reconciliation Center of Opposing Sides. The officer added that the Center and government received appeals from the population asking for help because of the Turkish military operation and the humanitarian crisis in northeastern Syria.

“The self-proclaimed Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria, having not received support from the United States and other Western countries, was unable to take any effective measures to protect the population and solve humanitarian problems. In this regard, the institutions of local government of the settlements in the districts Manbij in the province of Aleppo, Tabqa in the province of Raqqa, Qamishli and Al-Hasakah in the province of Al-Hasakah announced the full restoration of the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic on their territories," Bakin said.

He also added that in other settlements in eastern Syria in the provinces of Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa, the representatives of several tribal unions held demonstrations against foreign aggression and terrorism and sent appeals to the Reconciliation Center for help in restoring legitimate authority of Damascus.
